Hello lovelies! Happy Saturday. I promised a bit of a life update and here I am, trying to deliver.
I can’t remember the last time I did one of these, but let’s start with the easy stuff first. Right now I’m reading Wicked as You Wish by Ron Chupeco on my kindle and loving it! It’s such an interesting blending of the modern world and the storybook worlds we knew as children. I’m also listening to House of Earth and Blood by Sara J. Maas on audible and I’m enjoying it. Typically I prefer to read my favorite authors books in physical form, but honestly it’s easier to find time to listen to it than it’s been to read.
With that being said I’ve been more into Netflix and catching up on Grey’s Anatomy lately. Or watching Love is Blind, or LEGO masters. As you can see I had a lot of time on my hands this week lol.
Works been slow, but it usually is at the beginning of the month. People (myself included) are getting our contacts/documentation in for last month and starting to see kids in their foster homes. Admittedly this has been a little tough on me this month. I have sick kids, kids who are so angry at the system and are taking it out on me; which I understand and don’t blame them for but it all adds up emotionally, you know? Today I actually saw six of my kids and thankfully they were all doing really great overall, so that was a breath of fresh air. This month is shaping up to be exciting and stressful and overall fun, but I’m hoping to get on a better schedule.
I haven’t been feeling well the last few days, both physically and mentally, but I need to work mostly because my friends and I had planned a trip to Vegas set for next week and I’ll be missing work. I need the vacation. Like I really do.
Some happy news! I’m finnnnally moving into my own place! I’ve been living with family for forever and I’ve finally found a beautiful little one bedroom. I move in right after I get back from Vegas and I’m beyond excited. Originally I was going to move into my friends home, but his current roommate doesn’t move out for a few months so I found a place to live until then. I’m hoping this helps my mental health because living with my family hasn’t been the greatest situation…. but yeah, I get to go couch shopping and I’ve never been so excited to shop for anything in a while.
Some miscellaneous updates: I plan on going to bookcon this year! My bestie is going with some of her friends from bookstagram and I’ve kind of globbed onto them for that weekend. Are any of you guys going?? Please let me know! I’d love to meet you.
Serious question though, what is some advice y’all can give on first apartments? Whether it’s stuff I need to get or like decorating ideas or anything!
