Helloo lovelies! Sorry it’s been so long. Life’s been a little…stressful? Hectic? All of the above and more? Mostly things have been really slow, especially in the reading department. I was supposed to have a review up for The Last Hope by Krista and Becca Ritchie, but I’ve been in a slump so I’m not quite done yet. I should be done by Saturday though!
So what have I been up to lately? A lot of it has been work, dealing with having more kiddos on my caseload and trying to keep up with the demands of every family while trying to kindly remind them that they’re not the only ones on my caseload. It can be complicated and difficult, but my supervisor has been a big help! If I could tell you guys more, trust me I would, but alas, confidentiality.
A lot of my time has also been thrown into self-care and relaxing. You would think that reading would fall under this, but recently I’ve been very into spending time with friends and watching movies (though right now it’s Avatar the Last Airbender) or swimming. It’s really been a lovely escape from the stress of the workday, but I’ll have to find some kind of balance at some point. I’m feeling a little more energized creatively and my friends are really encouraging me to like get back to doing what I enjoy doing, both on the blog and on Instagram! It always brings a smile to my face when they say they miss my bookish photos, even if they don’t totally understand why I still read YA.
Currently I’m still reading The Last Hope, but I’m ALSO reading Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J. Maas at night and both have been really good thus far. I’m about halfway through The Last Hope and I really enjoy how Becca and Krista have expanded our protagonists’ universe. I also really love the addition of Stork and how he works with Mykal, but there will be more on that in my full review! And as for Catwoman, it’s an interesting take on the story, I’m not too far into it, but I’m enjoying this street fighting, kick butt (literally) Selina Kyle. Side note: I think I’m going to go on a book buying ban just to catch up on some of my massive TBR pile.
Question: HOW DO YOU GUYS GET YOUR CREATIVE JUICES FLOWING?
