Stories I Loved in April

Hellooo lovelies! I’ve come to you with a slightly better reading month than the last! Honestly, I’ve only read two books this month, but I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s quality over quantity for me right now. This will be a pretty short post since I’ve talked about both books (Wicked Saints and Aurora Rising) in past reviews 🙂 feel free to go check them out!

Both reads were definitely five stars for me for very different reasons. Wicked Saints had some morally grey characters (my little murder kids *insert heart eyes*) that I totally fell in love with. I found the adventure to be well paced and very interesting. I honestly CANNOT wait for the second book. I love the information that the author (Emily A. Duncan) tweets about the second book and the characters we’re going to meet.

Aurora Rising was a wild ride. The world is expansive and had everything I want in a space setting — aka it had aliens. I found the massive cast of characters we follow to be unique and their interactions to be meaningful and relatable. I love the outbreak/plague aspect of the plot and I think when I meet Jay Kristoff on Saturday at Yallwest I’m going to flip my lid and gush about how much I loved this book.

That was all I managed to get through in the month of April. I got about half way through The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi and the lovely Stacia has been wonderful enough to send me an e-arc of Kingsbane by Claire Legrand and so these two beauties are currently consuming my time. I don’t know if I’m going to get much reading done this weekend because I’ll be at Yallwest on Saturday seeing some of my lovely bookish friends and meeting some awesome authors. I honestly can’t wait.

Will I see some of your guys at YallWest??
