Top Ten Tuesday #10 – ten standalone books I feel need a sequel

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This weeks topic was books I think need a sequel. I have so many whether they wrapped up perfectly or you were left wondering, I wanted more from them.

    Sadie by Courtney Summers

I feel like Sadie was just left open with no true ending. I can always hope for another book to see what happens.

2. The winter sister by Megan Collins

This one had a toxic mother and daughter relationship in it and honestly, I just want a sequel about how their relationship continues after the book ends.

3. The afterlife of holly chase

The afterlife of holly chase wrapped everything up by the end, but if you’ve read it, I want to know what she does with what she was given. (sorry trying to keep it spoiler free.

4. Apocalypse of Elena Mendoza

I loved this book and honestly just wanted a series out of it to see what the main character does with her powers. Whether or not she does good or takes over the world type thing.

5. Daughter of the burning city

This was another one I just adored the world and magic system. I think Amanda did a fantastic job with this one. I had hoped she would turn it into a series but sadly I’ve heard nothing yet.

6. The memory agent

I honestly don’t know if this is a series or not if it is let me know. This is a very dark and weird book, but I enjoyed it none the less. I hope eventually there might be a sequel to see what happens next.

7. What I lost

What I lost is about an eating disorder and this shows what going through the illness and some of the recovery is like. I mainly wanted a second one to see the character flourish through her recovery and what she dealt with going through everything. Also, the relationship with the mother was another aspect I would have loved to see dealt with.

8. The color project

Honestly, this one was just cute af and I want more of them.

9. The dead house

This is a very dark book dealing with DID. A bunch of dark things take place in this book, but I wanted it to continue and know more about the characters and just everything. I didn’t want it to be over so quick, lol.

10. George

I think this one was super cute and showed a lot of emotions especially when it comes to trans children. I wanted a second book more to see how the parents help her and her becoming more into what she feels is her true self. I think the author could have done quite a bit of awareness into this if it was turned into a series. I still have hope maybe one day it will.

These are some of my favorite books that I would have loved for them to be turned into series. What was on your Top Ten list this week? Do you see any books here you loved and wanted a sequel too?
