All I Want for Christmas is…

Hellooo everyone! Sorry for this late post. I’ve been in self imposed hibernation since Saturday. Why, is that? (you may be wondering) Well I’ve been fighting off a pretty bad cold for the last few weeks, but without work forcing me to “walk it off” so to speak it sort of hit me like one big, mucus covered wave. It made Christmas a little less than wonderful, but for the most part it didn’t even feel like Christmas for me and mine this year…

Despite that though we managed to stick with tradition and I broke my self-imposed hibernation for a few hours. Tradition for me is spending Christmas Eve with my boyfriend and his family. We stayed up until midnight and then opened our presents! I’d insert a photo buuut I left some of my gifts at my boyfriend’s house.

On the bookish side, the boyfriend didn’t know what to get me. His exact words were “Adrianne you own every book you COULD want because of your subscription boxes.” And I mean he’s not wrong, but I managed to find some for him to get me. The first of these is Last Star Burning by Caitlin Sangster. This is the story about Sev, a girl who is branded a traitor and forced into hard labor in a plague infested world because of the actions of her mother. Instead of dying for a bombing she didn’t commit, she is forced outside of the city walls. This isn’t a new release, but it is one that’s been missing on my self. I’m hoping it is as good as it sounds!

The second book the boyfriend got me was Amber and Dusk, which is all about illusions and court intrigue and cruel wagers…all of my favorite things! I can’t wait to dig into this.

Surprisingly, I also got a third book from L.A. Night. Who is this person? I don’t know. I’ve been wanting to read Every Heart a Doorway for quite some time and when it showed up on my doorstep I thought I’d done some weird…sleep Amazon shopping or something, but no. I’m still not entirely sure where it came from, but I’m hoping it’s not from a gift exchange I just forgot about. Anyway, I’m thankful for it nevertheless.

Overall not a bad bookish Christmas, if I do say so myself. The rest of my gifts consisted of Starbucks gift cards, Lindor chocolates, scarves, Minnie Mouse socks, and a beautiful necklace.

What did you guys get for Christmas??
