New Kid on the Block

Greetings and Salutations bookies!

Obviously I’m new here, so I figured for my first post, I’d do a little introduction and “getting to know you” so here goes nothing.

My name is Stacia, I am a young 20-something living in the Midwest. Currently I attend My College University* where I am studying Respiratory Therapy.

My love of reading started when I was younger, like 3 or 4 years old. My mom, Peaches*, used to read Dr. Seuss books and Disney picture books to me before bed at night. When I was in kindergarten, my elementary school had an arrangement with the local library to come see us every Friday on the bookmobile! I started reading Goosebumps (R.L. Stine) then. The only titles that scared me, and still do to this day, are the “Night of the Living Dummy” ones. Eventually those little volumes weren’t enough so I moved up to Junie B. Jones (Barbara Park) and I ate that entire section of the library A L I V E. A Series of a Unfortunate Events (Lemony Snickett) was the next to be devoured and still I just needed MORE. Then 3rd grade. I saw the light, the marvelous Kings Cross Station light. Harry Potter (J.K. Rowling). It was then that I realized that I was in it for the long haul.

As you can guess, YA is my favorite age range to read in, and fantasy is my favorite genre. I have read some other books in different categories, but that’s a conversation for another blog post!

I’ll try to close each of my posts with a question to get to know you all better and so you can get to know me better! This week’s question is: What was the first book that sparked your love of reading?

Until next time,

Stacia 💕
