Top Ten Tuesday #1 – Books I want to finally read in 2019

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This weeks topic was freebie. I figured I would do a list of 10 books I hope to finally get to in 2019. I wanted to read so many books this year but sadly barely read 40. Hopefully this next year I can double that.

1. Strange the Dreamer

I have seen so many people love this duology. I picked it up and then other books got in the way so I never seemed to finish it. I am hoping January or February I can binge read both books and love them.

2. The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo

I have yet to pick this one up and I don’t know why. So many people have been telling me to read it and the hype honestly terrifies me. I’m hoping 2019 will be the year Evelyn breaks my heart.

3. The spring girls

I know a few people commented they loved this one more than her after series. I’ve had a ebook forever and just purchased a physical copy. This is suppose to be a modern day retelling of little women, but I’m wary because I know how much hate Anna gets for her books.

4. How to walk away

So I’ve never really heard of this author until I seen stranded in books on Instagram bragging about her new release things you save in a fire. Which I was blessed enough to receive an e-arc and it is so good. I recently got a copy of this one in my book of the month box so I want to read it next. Her writing is absolutely amazing.

5. Renegades

Everyone seems to love this and I was lucky enough to be gifted a copy shortly after release. I really want to read this because it is about humans with extraordinary abilities. This has been on my tbr for awhile and I really need to just read it.

6. Under the dome

There’s generally no reason except that it is such a intimidating book at 1000+ pages. I loved the tv show and I really want to read this, but she thick 😬

7. Throne of glass

This one is honestly 50/50 for me. I’ve seen so many love it and so many hate it. I own the first 5 books in the series and I’m kinda wanting to read it to form my own opinion as well. I’ve recently watched bookswithemilyfox’s video review and I’m slightly terrified but I still hope to read this and not hate it as much. Everyone says it gets better in book 3 going forward so hopefully I can binge read this series in 2019.

8. A court of thorns and roses

Bookswithkristie told me to read this last year and I never did, obviously. Everyone says this is more of a new adult fantasy so I’m excited to read this series and see if I like it.

9. The rook

The Rook is another one I saw Books with Emily fox talk about and it sounded interesting. I picked up books one and two on book outlet. The mc is awaken to find she is a rook, a high level secret operative that protects the world from supernatural threats. This honestly sounds super good and is on my January tbr already cause supernatural.

10. The simple wild

Honestly Melanie’s review from Meltotheany and Gabby from MyFictionalWorld sold me on this one so I picked up the Audiobook. It is high on my tbr for 2019. The romance is suppose to be amazing in this one. I am here for all the romance books.

These are my 10 I hope to get to in 2019. What are some of yours? Do you do top ten Tuesday? Link yours below so I can check it out.

  1. Honestly, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a life-changing kind of book. I looked at things differently after I read that book. It’s just such a treasure. I really hope you get to it next year. Great list – I’m also total trash for the ACOTAR series but will be reading ToG next year.
