Movie Review – Home

An alien on the run from his own people makes friends with a girl. He tries to help her on her quest, but can be an interference.

I love this movie so much, I’ve probably watched it over twenty times since it came out. Jim Parsons and Rihanna did such a great job bringing the two main characters alive and gave them such personality. I don’t know if anyone would have done as well as both of them have.

The movie is about the purple boov. The boov invade earth trying to run away from the gorg and the put all the people in “happy Humans Town” located in Australia. Tip somehow does not get taken on the invasion though and is all alone with her cat pig. She is trying to find a way to get to her mother when she meets O.

O is the boov know for making mistakes and making things worse for the other boov. He is so excited to finally have new neighbors and throw a housewarming party. When no one shows up he goes down to his friend Kyle to send an invite to him and send the invite to everyone including the gorg. He is now on the run as a fugitive when he meets Tip.

Once the two meet they go on one of the most amazing adventures they have ever had to find Tip’s mother. You see their friendship get tested and trust gets broken, but you see so much love and learning they do from one another throughout the movie.

This movie is one of my top five animated movies. I’m complete trash for anything Disney or Dreamworks. This movie showed so many lessons throughout it. Tip showed O that the world wasn’t so scary and to stop running away.

O’s people have done nothing but run away and be scared. Tip taught O how to stand up for himself and not be afraid. That’s one of the biggest lessons from this movie I saw. There are handfuls more throughout the movie.

I love this movie and I don’t think this review does it any justice at all, but I wanted to share it all with you anyway. I hope you all get the chance to watch and love it too.

Have you watched Home? What did you think?

  1. This is such a cute movie, glad you enjoyed it! It was hard getting used to hearing Sheldon’s voice coming from Oh, though. I’ve watched the Big Bang theory on tv for so long, and couldn’t think of the actor as playing anyone else! 😬💕
