(Audiobook) Come as you are by Lauren Blakely

I couldn’t have scripted a more perfect night.

For one fantastic evening, at a masquerade party in the heart of Manhattan, I’m not the millionaire everyone wants a piece of. Fine—multimillionaire. But who’s counting all those commas? Not me, and not the most intriguing woman I’ve ever met, who happens to like dancing, witty banter, and hot, passionate up-against-the-wall sex as much as I do.

There’s no need for names or business cards. And that’s why I’m eager to get to know her more, since my mystery woman seems to like me for me, rather than for my huge…bank account.

Everything’s coming up aces. Until the next day when things get a little complicated. (Newsflash — a lot complicated.)

He’s charming, brilliant, an incredible lover, and right now I want to stab fate in the eyeballs.

I’ve had one goal I’ve been working toward, and lo and behold, my mystery man is the very person who stands between me and my dream job. A job I desperately need since my hard-knock life has nothing in common with his star-kissed one.

But it’s time to put that fairytale night behind me, and focus on learning what makes him tick. Too bad it turns out his quirks are my quirks, and his love affair with New York matches mine.

And as we spend our days together, I discover something else that feels like a cruel twist of fate — I’m falling for this naughty prince charming, and that’s not an ending I can write to our story.

This was an absolutely adorable novel. I’ve never read anything by Lauren Blakely before and honestly now I’m hooked. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect going into this novel as I bought it on audible after I had seen Strandedinbooks on Instagram. I’m so glad I bought it and gave it a shot because wow.

This does have some smutty scenes in it so if you’re not into reading anything like this, I highly recommend skipping.

I devoured this audiobook in 2 days, I wanted to listen to more but life gets in the way. Come as you are is a sweet, sexy romantic comedy. Flynn is a CEO of a tech company, while Sabrina is a reporter. This book had me laughing so hard at parts of it and others I was screaming you’re so ridiculous.

Flynn and Sabrina are the perfect pair. I genuinely throughout the whole book was rooting for both of them. They both have so much going for them they just needed to open their hearts to each other.

The part I loved most about this book is how they immediately had chemistry. From the first time you see them interact with each other, they just fit like a glove together. The mystery with the masquerade balls playing angel and duke put the cherry on top because they were having fun while not knowing who the other was. Yes, that is reckless, but it was steamy none the less.

I do want to say that Flynn is a master at dirty talk like he is genuinely fabulous. The smut scenes were very steamy. I did love that both characters communicated, it didn’t have any backstabbing or betrayal in this novel. They were just going through life and trying to figure each other out.

Overall I genuinely enjoyed this novel. I loved how they worked through everything and my heart was so full of love for both of them at the ending. I am now a huge Lauren Blakely fan. I will be buying all of her books. *wallet cries in desperation*
