2018 Reading Goals!

2017 I started my blog in April. I had so many goals for my blog and only met half of them. This year I have so many goals, but I also don’t want to put so much pressure on myself that I don’t enjoy blogging or reading again. I want to fulfill all my goals, but I probably will only fulfill half of them.

>>1. Read 75 to 100 Books

This year I want to read more than 70 books without including DNF’s and Beta reads.I love helping new authors by reading beta books, but I’m not getting anything off my own shelf and that’s a bit of a problem. I just want to Spend 2018 Reading books I own on my own shelf instead of so many Betas and Arcs.

>>2. Being pickier with what I read.

I started out last year wanting every Arc I could get my hands on. Now I see how many I’m left with that I will never read. I’m also getting into more contemporary and Thrillers. I have my series that are YA Fantasy that I still own and will read, but I won’t be reading many Ya books unless it is just something that I love, like Adam Silvera novels or Amanda Foody’s books.

>>3. This year I want to post 2 to 3 times a week.

I was posting 5 to 6 times a week, so much pressure to post and not giving enough time to read and enjoy do want I love. I figure on Mondays I can interchange between Discussions, wrap-ups, and Movie/tv Reviews, Tuesdays I will keep to Book Reviews, Wednesdays will be Top 5 and Fridays I will feature a blogger whose content I love. I won’t be doing TBRs anymore because I never stick with them, so I will just do wrap-ups to show what I read for that month.

>>4. Get off Twitter and Instagram

I put so much pressure on posting every day and engaging in every message, that I don’t give myself time to read. I put so much pressure on how many followers and what pictures to post, that I never put that same effort into my content.  Towards the end of this year, I already started getting off social media more and not caring about how many followers I have compared to my engagement. I love talking to other book nerds like myself.

>>5. Read more Poetry

I have never really been one to read that much poetry or even buy poetry books, but after reading Keaton Henson’s book I want to read more of it. I recently bought the princess saves herself in this one and the sun and her flowers. I can’t wait to find more poetry books and if you know any please leave me some recommendations.

These are my five main goals for this year and I’m hoping I can complete most of these goals. What are some of your 2018 goals?
